Mean girls

Posted by rachelemichele11 at 9:01 PM 1 comments

When I first moved to utah, I hung out with crowds of guys that were ages 21-30 and I really didn't mind it or think it was weird, although my mom was very nervous when my first date in provo was with a 25 yr old.... Anyway, I was the young girl at most gatherings and parties though, and I remember loving that though. seeing all the older girls scowl at me because I was the younger, more active, jadeless(?) version of them. chipper and talkative. Now only 3 years later, and still young, I think, I've come to finally realize why the older girls hated me. Don't get me wrong girls that graduated in 09 or 10 soon to be 11', are cool girls, but they are so young and naive. I can relate to them only because I was one of them once but  Its kind of hard to hang out with guys that hang out with girls so young though. so to some extent, I have no idea why guys hung out with me when I was 18( still considering that i was mature for my age). Whats funnier is that I hung out with a group of guys when I was 18 and now that im 21, my just barley 18 year old cousin is hanging out with that same crowd. I think that says something, don't you think???

*disclaimer: this is in no way a "im better than all the young girls because ive matured" blog post............This is a "why cant 30 year olds get married instead of hang out with girls that are 10 years younger" blog post

whats the cause of this? It is really because they cant find the right girl? do they really not want to settle down? Is their life that great with out a girl? or has the pressure of society and/or family made them give up? or is it because there are just too many girls, they simply can not pick...? As lame as that sounds, I think that last option is possible...but what I have learned is that its not about finding the right one, its about making it work with the right one/anyone really(that's compatible to their standards) Think about that.

And also, my dad and many other people always say, "don't worry about finding the right one, worry about being the right one. If you do your part, the lord will do the rest."

I fully agree on that.

How to push the buttons

This list is Hilarious and is not recommended to read in public, people will stair at you:

HOW TO TICK PEOPLE OFF

  1. In the memo field of all your checks, write "for sexual favors."

  2. Specify that your drive-through order is "TO-GO."

  3. If you have a glass eye, tap on it occasionally with your pen while talking to others.

  4. Insist on keeping your car windshield wipers running in all weather conditions "to keep them tuned up."

  5. Reply to everything someone says with "that's what you think."

  6. Practice making fax and modem noises.

  7. Highlight irrelevant information in scientific papers and "cc" them to your boss.

  8. Make beeping noises when a large person backs up.

  9. Finish all your sentences with the words "in accordance with prophesy."

  10. Signal that a conversation is over by clamping your hands over your ears and grimacing.

  11. Disassemble your pen and "accidentally" flip the ink cartridge across the room.

  12. Holler random numbers while someone is counting.

  13. Adjust the tint on your TV so that all the people are green, and insist to others that you "like it that way."

  14. Staple pages in the middle of the page.

  15. Publicly investigate just how slowly you can make a croaking noise.

  16. Honk and wave to strangers.

  17. Decline to be seated at a restaurant, and simply eat their complimentary mints at the cash register.

  18. Buy a large quantity of orange traffic cones and reroute whole streets.

  19. Repeat the following conversation a dozen times.
    "DO YOU HEAR THAT?"
    "What?"
    "Never mind, it's gone now."

  20. As much as possible, skip rather than walk.

  21. Try playing the William Tell Overture by tapping on the bottom of your chin. When nearly done, announce "No, wait, I messed it up," and repeat.

  22. Ask people what gender they are.

  23. While making presentations, occasionally bob your head like a parakeet.

  24. Sit in your front yard pointing a hair dryer at passing cars to see if they slow down.

  25. Sing along at the opera.

  26. Go to a poetry recital and ask why each poem doesn't rhyme.

  27. Ask your co-workers mysterious questions and then scribble their answers in a notebook. Mutter something about "psychological profiles."

  28. Call your name over the intercom with a disquse

  29. Make your trash can "in" and your inbox "out" at work

I think this will make everyones day a lot better.

so Im on an airplane and everyone one that flys Delta was saying how they love how they have free wifi on flight.......My hopes we shot down. no wifi, no netflix or twitter or facebook. Horrible right. I mean If I hadnt known I would be offered it, I wont have cared but nope what a let down. Good thing Tadd Larsen is my flight attendant. how funny is that and how random. He was telling me that he hasn't flown in a month so the odds are "one in a million" haha. Hes funny he  just gave me about 20 complimentary Roasted Peanuts. I feel so special. And might I add he looks handsome in his delta flight attendant outfit. He's sitting right next to me and we are talking about about life and stuff, I just told him my crush and we're sharing a drink and laughing...in the air, he just left because the other flight attendant lady looked at him oddly. oooops. and he just spilled my drink. Great more water please!!! He just offered me some sugar to snort.....He's going to be a great dad.

I love Kate Nash, always sings about the things I need to hear.

“All I know is that you’re so nice,
You’re the nicest thing I’ve seen.
I wish that we could give it a go,
See if we could be something.

I wish I was your favourite girl,
I wish you thought I was the reason you are in the world.
I wish my smile was your favourite kind of smile,
I wish the way I dressed was your favourite kind of style.

I wish that without me your heart would break,

Yeah, I wish that without me you’d be spending the rest of your nights awake.
I wish that without me you couldn’t eat,
Yeah, I wish I was the last thing on your mind before you went to sleep.”

Yesterday I got a 17 page email from my lovely friend Sydney and I wanted to share my favorite parts (even though all 17 pages were my favorite)…

Dr. Scott Peck goes on in his book to emphasize that “Love is not a feeling—love is a choice…love is an action….Listen to this:  Peck goes so far to say that, “True love happens after the love starts to fade.”

In Young Womens, they always taught you to make a list of what you wanted in your husband and not to settle… my first husband fit my list perfectly, but my list was [too long]… there should just be five things on there that it comes down to: (everything else is just a matter of making it work with your spouse)does he have a testimony?  Does he read his scriptures every day?  Does he pay his tithing?  Does he have a temple recommend?  Is he doing well in school?

How can you know there wasn’t someone better out there than her for you? Lots of guys and girls struggle to commit… One man spoke of being influenced by his brother’s experience dating his spouse, where, “he wasn’t interested in other girls”:  “I thought it meant you weren’t attracted to any girls anywhere, for the rest of eternity.  When I was attracted to other girls, there were still girls on the radar, there were still others . . I would see another girl walk by, ‘wow, she’s prettier than the girl I’m with.  I wonder what she’s like.’ He continued to explain that his assumption was “If I’m still attracted to other girls in my head, maybe I’m not ready to commit to this other girl.”

“1.  Step one was creating the list we spoke about—8-10 people of the opposite sex with whom you have really connected….

2.  Second, pick at least 2 people on your list that you can call at least one—maybe two people on this list—even the girls and see how they are doing…see if you can get together.

3.  Step three:  When you do interact…experiment with dating with a focus on their needs—practicing the radical Christian idea that love is about someone else….”

believe that relationships grow.  Invest in relationships where you do *not* feel head over heels…now—but with whom you connect in substantial ways.”

you need to be in a relationship, even if it doesn’t work . . even if you aren’t twitter pated.’”  So this man said, “I’m going to date this girl and have a really meaningful relationship and see where this goes.”—adding, “[before, unless I was completely blown away and infatuated, I had a hard time pursuing girls.”

“It totally changed my perception of what it meant to date—you really commit, your brain starts to move towards this person in a way that it doesn’t before you do that—i was amazed at how my feelings started to evolve with that.  . . What it taught me was how much your feelings can evolve when you commit.  I was grateful to have that experience as my baseline—to proceed forward and know that it was okay to risk a month to try something out and see how your feelings can evolve—because it was pretty amazing how that happened.”

In the meantime, as you go through this process of practicing true love in real relationships, remember where to fill any holes that exist in your own heart and life.  In my own hard times as a single, I personally had need to havesomeone fill my heart in the meantime.  In this, I return to the most important of the point talk—from Monique’s comments.  Neither before or after marriage will you find core, soul fulfillment in anything or anyone….without Christ at the center.”

Everyone longs to give themselves completely to someone,

To have a deep soul relationship with another,

To be loved thoroughly and exclusively . .

But God, to the believer says,

“No, not until you are satisfied, fulfilled and content with being loved by Me alone

With giving yourself totally and unreservedly to Me,

I love you my child, and until you discover that only in me is your satisfaction to be found,

You will not be capable of the perfect human relationship I have planned for you.

You will never be united with another until you are united with Me

Exclusive of anyone or anything else,

Exclusive of any other desires and longings.

I want you to stop planning, stop wishing,

and allow Me to give you the most thrilling plan existing,

One that you cannot imagine.

I want you to have the best.

Please allow Me to bring it to you—

Just keep watching Me, expecting the greatest things.

Just keep experiencing the satisfaction knowing that I Am.

Keep listening and learning the things I tell you . . and just wait, that’s all.

Don’t be anxious.  Don’t worry.

Don’t look around at the things others have gotten or that I’ve given them.

Don’t look at the things you think you want.

You just keep looking off and away up to Me,

Or you’ll miss what I want to show you.

And then when you are ready,

I’ll surprise you with a love far more wonderful than any you could dream of.

You see, until you are ready and until the one I have for you is ready,

(I am working even this very moment to have both of you ready at the same time),

Until you are both satisfied exclusively with Me and the life I prepared for you,

You won’t be able to experience the love that exemplifies your relationship with Me.

And this is perfect love.

And dear one, I want you to have this most wonderful love,

I want you to see in the flesh a picture of your relationship with Me,

And to enjoy materially and concretely

The everlasting union of beauty, perfection and love

That I offer you with Myself.

Know that I love you utterly.

I Am God Almighty.

Believe and be satisfied.

Never knowing
Shocking but we’re nothing
We’re just moments
We’re Clever but we’re clueless
We’re just human
Amusing but confusing
Were trying but where is this all leading
Never Know

Optional

You’re chatting to me, like we connect
But I don’t even know if we’re still friends
It’s so confusing,
Understanding you is making me not want to do

And things that I know I should do
But I trip fast and then I lose
And I hate looking like a fool

I just want your kiss boy, kiss boy, kiss boy
I just want your kiss
I just want your kiss boy, kiss boy, kiss boy
I just want your kiss

The lights are on
And someone’s home
I’m not sure if they’re alone
There’s someone else inside my head
Living there too fills me with dread

This paranoia is distressing
But I spend most of my night guessing
Are we not, are we together
Will this make our lives much better

I’m not in love
I just wanna be touched

I just want your kiss boy, kiss boy, kiss boy
I just want your kiss
I just want your kiss boy, kiss boy, kiss boy
I just want your kiss
Whoops I think I’ve got too close
‘Cause now he’s telling me I’m girl that he likes most
Now I messed up it’s not the first time
I’m not saying you’re not on my mind
I hope that you don’t think I’m unkind

I just want your kiss boy, kiss boy, kiss boy
I just want your kiss
I just want your kiss boy, kiss boy, kiss boy
I just want your kiss

I had never seen this movie until today when I had the most laziest, debbie downer day ever.I really do love this movie. I could watch it everyday. If I wanted to.

“no man can be friends with a woman he’s attracted to.”

^is it true or false????

I haven’t figured it out yet…………
